Experienced FrontEnd Developer

Job Description

The IBM CIO organization is looking for Senior Front-end Developers to work on a number of highly visible projects, transforming the employee intranet (w3) and mobile experience.

We play a major role in delivering technology to the IBM intranet. Currently we are re-imagining several of the key tools that are used internally by IBMers on a daily basis. Our applications are written largely in Java, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript using state of the art engineering and development frameworks. In this fast pace and expanding organization, we foster an environment of continuous innovation and working in agile teams.

What we are looking for:
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• Minimum 4 years front-end development experience
• Experience developing in a cross-platform environment (Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS)
• Good understanding of software development life cycle & associated tools such as Rational Team Concert and Git

Although we aim to collocate our agile teams the organization is global and some time flexibility to attend meetings is a must.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience within an Agile environment
• Ability to produce semantic, well thought out markup
• Experience writing modular JavaScript utilizing open source libraries (jQuery, Dojo, etc)
• Some experience with portal type solutions
• A deep understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
• An understanding of responsive design/development
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Solid communication skills - written, verbal
• Self starter/independent
• English: Fluent
