WEB Developer
| Job description |
| We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual with experience and skills in front end web development, ideally using an enterprise level content management solution. Candidates would also have web editing, graphic design, site management and testing skills. They should have a basic understanding of standard development and life cycle processes and should be able to perform and execute the plans and coding standards as defined by management. The web developer will work closely with the technical team to understand the web content management solution end to end. They will be responsible for developing websites on a content management solution that includes front end display as well as back end content templates. This person will, train other editors on how to use this solution, maintain site standards with regard to new development and assist with user acceptance and regression testing of the site and the technical solution(s) serving up the site. This position will work closely with technical, business development, and marketing members of our organization, so strong communication skills are needed. Tasks require a strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. Typical job responsibilities include: • Create, develop and manage websites and their content for organization’s web presence (requires working with content management software) • Desire to fully understand the content management solution and provide training and guidance to other web editors across the organization. • Working web projects across departments and geographies • Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties • Have a keen eye for detail and be thorough in adhering to standards while innovating new ideas • Regression test all web site functionality and content • Keep current with emerging web technologies through relevant blogs, listservs, and events • Work cooperatively with key team members, clients and vendors Skills required: • Exceptional communication and organizational skills • Advanced knowledge of HTML (knowledge of HTML 5 helpful) and experience with content management systems. • Intermediate knowledge of XML, Javascript, CSS, Ajax, Dojo, atleast one scripting language knowledge and willingness to improve/develop those skills • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Basic Adobe Photoshop skills • Ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team • Clear understanding of the differences in various web browsers and how to test between them. • 2-5 years experience managing content and production for high traffic websites • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field Successful candidates can use great benefits provided by the IBM company for its employees.
