Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
Overview:
This position provides leadership of the Product Development & Standardization team in the delivery of new products, special product design & product maintenance. Additionally, department planning and coordination, scheduling, financial oversight, supplier support/validation and manufacturing support/validation will be included in the responsibilities.
They will also report back to Product Development in US to ensure quality & consistency of products and processes including induction of information into Oracle.
Leadership for the growth and development of department human resources and for business improvement.
Creates, administers and executes project plans, functional and life testing plans and turnover to sourcing/manufacturing
Works with employees to ensure training and procedures are being followed
Digests requirement documents, proposals and specifications understands the workflow to produce documentation for consumption by manufacturing and outside suppliers
Provides schedule and quotes for projects being proposed
Updates schedules, manages costs, mitigates risk items
Makes site visits to sold customer projects and supplier facilities
Conducts project planning and issues status reports
Monitors and manages project process
Manages change orders & schedules
Coordinates transition from Product Development to Product Management for launch activities
Coordinates with CSS, Product Management and Documentation for spare parts, training and product documentation
Manages project close-out which include turnover and final report
May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
10 years technical experience in conveyor systems or similar preferred.
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to solution concepting and design of conveyor assemblies and material handling equipment
Financial & Budget Knowledge
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in engineering, resource allocation, project leadership technique, and overall coordination of people and resources
Ability to think analytically; uses judgment and decision making; requires analyzing information and using logic to address work-related problems; considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
Consistently look for ways to improve the organization; understands Lean methodology and current organizational Lean initiatives
Excellent written, verbal and consultative communication skills with the ability to successfully interpret and communicate business needs between internal and external groups in a clear, focused and concise manner
Ability to anticipate, size, and mitigate risk
