We are looking for a Global Product Manager for our HSP (Honeywell Safety Products) team. Honeywell Safety Products protects people by various PPE categories such as Respiratory Protection, fall protection, Foot Protection, Eye, Face & Head protection, Hearing Protection, etc.

Position Responsibilities:



The COE Global Product Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of global platform NPI projects, working in close collaboration with the regional product line teams (General Managers, Product Marketing Leaders, cross functional teams), global COE and user experience teams in order to successfully launch new products based on platforms.  She/he will be responsible for translating market and customer needs into detailed technical specifications that can be used by COE technology teams in product development process.  This role will be the primary connection point between regional and global / COE teams.



This is a high impact role for a broad based, business thinker with strong analytical, strategic thinking, project management and communication skills who can collaborate effectively across the entire business (marketing, engineering, R&D, manufacturing, sourcing, sales and all relevant business leaders).  This position reports directly to Global Platforms Director for the business.



The successful candidate will possess a strong knowledge of product marketing and portfolio management, will have strong customer oriented skills and even stronger desire to get results to maximize growth, profitability and return on investment for the business.

 Specific Roles & Responsibilities:


• Work collaboratively with the Regional Product General Managers (RPGM), product marketing leaders and global teams to identify global platform projects ensuring that the product roadmaps are aligned with the technology roadmaps


• Lead global platform NPI projects, develop detailed execution plans with resource assignment and balancing


• Work with RPGM’s, regional product marketing leaders and cross functional teams to ensure that proper information is gathered and provided to enable successful product launches


• Ensure that user-experience design principles are utilized into product designs via input from Voice of the Customer / Observational Voice of the Customer (VOC/OVOC) and touch-point analysis


• Work collaboratively with the COE team to make trade-offs needed between customer needs and technical feasibility


• Utilize established Honeywell product development processes to ensure that the right decisions are made throughout the product development lifecycle.


• Leverage the ACS/global technology labs to rapidly close gaps in the viability of technology for commercialization


• Ensure that Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, Service and Repair principles are applied during development through well-defined requirements


• Actively help regional teams to manage SKU’s – ensure that full product lifecycle management principles are adopted; end-of-life plans on products being replaced or substituted



VOC / OVOC


• Strong VOC/OVOC skill set. Ability to understand the needs of the market and translate needs into well-defined set of features and capabilities in the offering that deliver value.


• Connect the dots between customers, their needs, the next best alternative and available technology. 



Product Planning & Strategy


• Integrate global and regional inputs to develop distinctive product plans with outstanding financial outcomes


• Ensure that segmentation, customer needs and value are well-defined prior to commitment of technical resources


• Establish scope of product development and break down product launches into


• Promote strong market orientation and influence strategy formulation and investment decisions


• Co-own the global product planning process with the RPGM’s including new product additions working with Product Marketing, R&D and ISC etc.


• Assist in the development and management of product roadmaps linked to customer segment, the needs of the segment and the target customers’ willingness to pay; product positioning linked to distinctive understanding of next best alternative, competitive offerings and value


Products and Services Management


• Classic product/services management.  Understand and manage product/services life cycles, profitability, demand planning , new product/services development ideation and process management, competitive offerings


• Promote organization-wide innovation and cooperation in the development of new products and services


• Direct and maintain competitive product/service portfolios that deliver more value than next best alternative; Model and lead innovation


• Solid demonstration of innovating profitable business models and leading change as required; Has strong skills to lead other product managers


• Articulates product and service offering key benefits and messages for use by sales, channel partners and for digital marketing



Metrics & Management


• Establish and maintain a product development metrics dashboard for visual management and to measure process efficiency. Apply a management system to check and act on the metrics.


• Develop a system that establishes daily management of projects cross-functionally.


• Use structured processes / management operating system (MOS) to manage results
