Job description, responsibilities and duties

The primary role of the Advanced Technology Program Manager to manage large research programs associated with external customers. Most of these are co-funded programs with the European Commission, the European Space Agency, the SESAR Joint Undertaking, the Artemisia Joint Undertaking, and the Czech government. All programs are multi-million Euros in size and underlying projects are executed by consortiums of partners. The Program Manager ensures a strategic and long-term relationship between Advanced Technology and External Customers, matches value to Honeywell with value to the customer, ensures coherent program management from the customer’s perspective, identifies and evaluates future opportunities and participates on definition of Advanced Technology strategic plan.

Program Manager:
• Creates opportunities for Advanced Technology work with external partners (funding agencies). Coordinate with ATE Department Leaders the contribution to those opportunities. End responsible for all communication towards the external funding agency.
• Is responsible for setup and implementation of program specific management plan. He/she will be the senior manager interacting with the senior managers of the external customer.
• Is responsible towards customer for quality of execution and meeting requirements on running projects. Proactively solve issues with the customer, trying to match customer's interests with Honeywell interests.
• Represents Honeywell in meetings with customer and consortium partners. His role is to make sure Honeywell technical and programmatic interests are negotiated with partners and customer.
• Communicates and negotiates Honeywell positions towards customer and explain customer requirements to Honeywell. Make sure requirements are understood and met.
• Is responsible to make sure external customer's requirements are understood and followed in projects.
• Manages scope definition and change control, including estimation and negotiation of contract variations
• Responsible for booking recovery according plan
• Ensure alignment between departments in Advanced Technology Europe (and broader - Honeywell Aerospace) in order to have a consistent communication towards external customer and consistent with the Advanced Technology roadmaps.
• Contributes to Honeywell Advanced Technology strategic plans.
• Directs and mentors Project Management Office and Project Engineers in managing projects.
