Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

*Develop and understand all desktop design concepts, to ensure Honeywell standards are applied and are aligned to approved build books and solutions.
*Partner with PMT (Performance Materials and Technologies) IT leadership and team members to identify solutions that meet PMT business goals, help develop solutions and support implementations.
*Manage and own the development of the PMT standard desktop image and ensure each layer of the approved image remains current.
*Partner with PMT engineering groups to ensure all applications are packaged for deployment on all approved platforms.
*Work with other SBG’s (Strategic Business Groups) and HITS engineers to drive consistent solutions, including the development of common, cross-SBG standards as appropriate.
*Fully support Problem Management process to ensure consistent analysis and corrective actions of complex incidents.
*Cross train on other design technologies, to ensure knowledge is shared throughout the design team.
*Support disaster recovery and continuity for the desktop environment and business critical applications.
*Partner with the PMT Service Strategy team to understand new service offerings and the impact on future designs and the transition into operations.
*Working with PMT IT Service Strategy, develop and articulate an understanding of business and IT strategies and technology architecture.
*Execute POC (Proof of Concept) initiatives and evaluations of all desktop and cloud technologies making recommendations for establishing new services and standards.
*Lead the evaluation of O365 and become the SME for the new office suite, including future service offerings related to SharePoint and cloud services.

Qualifications:
*Bachelors Degree or higher.
*Long experience of IT
*Diverse knowledge of infrastructure technologies, multi-platform environments and management tools.
*Bias for action, results orientated.
*Demonstrate structured and methodical approach to working practices.
*Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written areas to all levels of the organization.
*Analytical with excellent problem solving skills.
*Ability to conceptualize and quickly assess the impact and opportunity of IT solutions to meet business needs.
*Strong organizational and management skills with ability to function in a collaborative environment, working with SBG/SBU and corporate IT leadership.
*Skilled in identifying and evaluating new technology developments and gauging appropriateness for the business.
*Ability to translate business issues/ requirements and objectives into technical solutions.
*Ability to understand financial costs and seek savings opportunities in the infrastructure area.
*Strong technical desktop knowledge and understanding of our supplier agreements and processes.
*Highly motivated with the ability to be flexible and manage change
*Ability to work under pressure.
*Strong organizational and management skills with the ability to function in a collaborative environment, working with SBG/SBU (Strategic Business Unit).
*ITIL working knowledge, Foundation qualification desirable.
*Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
