*Honeywell Analytics is a part of the Honeywell Life Safety business. *We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for our gas detection systems and instruments R&D team within the EMEAI Region.

*Job Description:
*Full design responsibility – for mechanical parts, electronics and software
*Defining, designing and verifying (testing) and supporting production of mechanical parts of gas detection instruments (new products, cost reduction and sustaining activities (quality problem solving, customization, manufacturing support, etc)
*Preparation of CAD drawings, technical files, product concept and design, part qualification, user manual updates, internal test reports, etc
* Employing DFSS methodology, engineering processes and tools and process capability mindset
*Co-operation with colleagues in Brno as well as in other Europe, Asia and USA in all project development phases (planning, designing, testing and documentation, implementation)
*Regular communication with marketing, suppliers, manufacturing, sourcing & quality departments
*Applying international standards (UL, CSA, CE, ATEX, SIL) and Honeywell internal processes
*Performing and conducting performance tests, in accordance with applicable standards
*Occasional travel, mostly in Europe

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

*Master degree in mechanical engineering from a technical university
*3 - 4 years experience in developing new products or sustaining existing product ranges
*Knowledge of processes such as casting, sheet metal, plastic/rubber moldings and typical machining operations
*Experience with design for manufacturing, design for test, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), or structured quality and design methodologies such as Six Sigma
*Experience with CADs, preferably ProE or SolidWorks
*Good knowledge of mechanical industry and small/medium production
*Goal oriented, team player, precise, responsible, integrative thinker, analytical skills
*Good written and verbal English language
*Advantages: Experience with product planning, product costing, and manufacturing process capability methodologies, developing products explosion proof compliant, FEA (finite element analysis) and Thermal simulation.
