Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

This position is opened for CNS (Communications, Navigations and Surveillance) team in Brno, with primary focus on software development for Satellite Communication units (SATCOM). Units are located within the aircraft and provide data and voice communication between the aircraft and the control tower on the ground over a satellite.

Responsibilities:
* Work as a SW design engineer focused on verification and validation part of the product life-cycle
* Close co-operation with system, software and verification teams
* Develop test cases, report test results for avionics products and tools
* Create and update verification and certification documentation
* Create software test procedures, scripts written in python and bash, perform test validation
* Setup software environment for a hardware platform

Requirements:
* Minimum Bachelor Degree in Software Engineering, or equivalent
* Minimum 2 years experience of software testing of embedded hardware (possibility to gain during studies) - candidate should have a good knowledge of system/software life cycle processes
* Good command of English language is mandatory
* Knowledge of Python, Bash, C
* Knowledge of basic Safety when handling AC or DC powered equipment
* Knowledge of basic Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection to prevent board failure

Nice to have:
* Knowledge and experience with Low level data and voice communications protocol
* Knowledge and experience with Complex integrated test lab environment to communicate with multiple simulators, discrete signals
* Knowledge and experience with RF, wireless and satellite communications knowledge
* Knowledge and experience with verification in executing test cases
* Knowledge of scripting test language
* Knowledge of DO-178B objectives
* Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
* Knowledge of Configuration Management tools
