We have an exciting new opportunity with Honeywell’s Automation and Control Solutions Division in Brno, Czech Republic for a User Experience Designer. In this key position, you will be relating your expertise in human factors to the design and development of highly engaging and effective user experiences, by applying expert knowledge in terms of user experience design, cognitive engineering, industrial design, graphics design, and usability.


Primary responsibilities include:
- providing human factors support throughout the product development process
- defining and implementing user experience strategies for the design and development of world class ACS products that will engage customers in pleasurable, meaningful and usable experiences
- this role will use analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into detailed plans and technical approaches
- work in a diverse global environment with day to day interactions with multidisciplinary global teams and customers
- work collaboratively with other functions including marketing, engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, quality control and regulatory assurance to produce engaging and highly usable user experience designs that meet user needs, but also factor in business priorities and any technical, cost and/or manufacturing constraints
- coordinate resources to help plan and conduct user evaluations of product concepts and prototypes, analyze data, document evaluation methods and results, and present design recommendations to project teams, including external clients
- be responsible for interacting professionally and communicate effectively at all levels throughout the company and with customers

Personality requirements and skills
Key Skills Required:
- Strong skills in user centered design / interaction design / user experience design / web and mobile application design / cognitive ergonomics / graphics design / usability;
- Minimum 3 years working experience as a user experience designer in human factors or design consulting agency(ies) that integrate human factors considerations in to the whole product / service lifecycle in order to deliver compelling user centered solutions and exceptional user experiences for a variety of markets (i.e. operational environments and/or consumer products);
- In-depth understanding of both functional and non-functional aspects of user experience and application of those requirements to the design and development of a variety of products for different markets;
- Work experience in user needs and requirements analysis, ethnographic observations/interviews, usability studies, cognitive task analysis, exploring and prototyping visualization concepts, use-case development, information architecture and work-flow design, and authoring detailed design specifications;
- Experience working closely with marketing, development and engineering to provide UX and usability design recommendations on consumer focused technology products;
- Knowledge of both European markets and European culture / lifestyle;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience motivating people, helping negotiate priorities, and resolving conflicts among project stakeholders;
- Strong analytical, innovation and ‘thinking outside of the box’ and problem solving skills;
- Effective at time management, facilitating meetings, planning, execution, risks identification, management, and mitigation;
- Superb organizational skills with history of working on a vast array of projects with rapidly changing information gathered from multiple sources.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Ergonomics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Architecture, Industrial Design, Visual Design, Mechanical Design, or Mechatronics with a focus on Human Factors;
- 3 years of experience as a User Experience Designer, Interaction Designer, Human Factors Engineer, Usability Engineer, or related occupation;
- In depth understanding of the fundamentals of computer graphics and graphic design tools;
- Ability to translate design ideas to working prototypes and storyboards;
- Online / available portfolio demonstrating the successful integration of human factors considerations into the design of engaging user experiences;
- Proficient in both written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications
- Design experience with technologies such as gesture recognition, ubiquitous and location aware computing, mixed media, virtual environments, large/small and thin display technologies, Augmented reality, data visualization techniques, wearable computing, and training and human performance evaluation;
- Experience as a Team Leader;
- An additional degree in Business is an advantage.
