Global Engineering & Technical Consulting (GE&TC) is an global organization within Hewlett Packard Enterprise which delivers pre-sales, consulting, and engineering services for the Enterprise Services customers in HPE. GE&TC takes accountability for infrastructure design and build, develops architecture, strategy and roadmaps, performs IT workload migration and leads infrastructure deployments.

Client Virtualization Services Consultant applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

Job specifics/responsibilities:
• Responsible for implementing part or all of the technical solution for the client in accordance with an agreed technical design.
• Occasionally responsible for providing a detailed technical design for enterprise solutions.
• Often leads small to medium technical projects.
• Works with and under the direction of the Project/Technical Manager and with customer nominated representatives.
• Liaises with Solutions Architect as appropriate.
• Provides technical support and input on the application of technology to a defined business segment.
• Provides advice on solution and integration opportunities to defined segments.
• Provides technical leadership on specific integration activities that are part of an engagement.
• Provides planning and design support for the development of solution architectures that will be implemented in a multiple system environment.
• Communicates across client community, and is viewed as adding value.
• Demonstrates understanding and execution of the HP strategy.
• Contributes to knowledge sharing tools and communities and ensures project learnings are documented and shared.
• Proactively encourages membership and contributions of others to professional community.
• Produces internally published material such as knowledge briefs, service delivery kit components or modules, etc.
• Participates in the selling process and works with sales/principals on pre- sales activities.

Personality requirements and skills

Education and Experience
• 5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total).

Knowledge and Skills
• Fluent in written and verbal English
• Knowledge of other language is advantageous
• Excellent knowledge and certified in at least three of the following areas:
o Application Presentation & Virtualization - Citrix XenApp 7.6, MS APP-V
o Persistent/Non persistent desktop virtualization - Citrix XenDesktop 7.6
o Virtualization components - Citrix Netscaler (HDX, SDX, VPX), AppSense modules (Environment Manger),
o Thin Client management – preferably HPDM (HP Device Manager) and Thin Client OS (Zero Linux, and WES)
o Hypervisors – MS Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer, VMware ESX
o Windows Client OS versions 7, 8, and 10
o Windows Server OS 2008r2 & Windows 2012r2
• Moderate to Intermediate knowledge with three or more of the following technologies (advantage):
o Virtualization performance evaluation and health checks – Citrix Director
o Monitoring and reporting solution - Liquidware Stratusphere
o Other desktop virtualization SW - VMware Horizon View
o SW distribution SW - MS SCCM, MDT
o Application packaging for virtual environments
o Mobility solutions – Citrix XenMobile, MS Intune, VMware Airwatch
o Cloud solutions – Citrix Workspace Cloud
o High level understanding of Storage, Network, and Server technologies
