Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Practice Architect is a member of the engagement solution team in Strategic or Revenue outsourcing engagements. He/she is responsible for the tower specific outsourcing solution design throughout the engagement life cycle (from Opportunity Creation until Contract Signature and including solution hand-over to the Account Delivery Team), both for new customers as well as for the HPE installed base. When required, he/she acts as an interlock between HPE and the Client, to ensure the proposed service tower solution is addressing the business needs of the Client and can be delivered by HPE at the best possible costs. He/she also is the primary interface into delivery tower specific management for the solution team and the other engagement functions.

Job Responsibilities will include:

The main deliverables that a Practice Architect is accountable for are:
• Customer Business case including a high level solution framework (during early engagement stages)
• Full deal lifetime costs : Labour, Services, Hardware, Software
• The Outsourcing Solution :
• As Is and To Be customer environment describing
• Services to be delivered (incl. required architecture and service levels)
• Delivery models (incl. locations, effort estimates and costs)
• Required management tools and governance model
• Required hardware and software
• Transition and Transformation projects (incl. ROI)
• Risks and Assumptions
• Customer proposal including a description of the HP solution and the associated value proposition
• Ensuring that solution components are accurately documented, consistent and that approved tools are used
• Handing over the solution (including Transition and Transformation projects) from the technical pursuit team to the Delivery transition team after contract signature
• The Solution related parts of the Services contract

The Practice Architect is responsible for (on top of the shared responsibilities above):
• Actively participating in defining the solution strategy
• Creating and managing a high performance tower solution to successfully contribute to the winning of outsourcing engagements
• Collaborating with other functions to ensure the scheduling and execution of the defined delivery reviews and to ensure efficient use of resources
• Ensuring that the tower solution meets internal and customer criteria in terms of cost, quality, and services provided (standard services vs. non-standard services)
• Supporting the Lead Architect and the team during the negotiation phase (e.g. for contract exhibits)
• Supporting the responsible Transformation consultants in verifying and updating the solution based on information gathered after day-1
• Ensuring that knowledge capture sessions are arranged and executed

Core Practice Architect deliverables are:
• Documented tower solution (see above)
• Delivery service tower sections of the proposal
• Delivery service tower sections of the contract
• Solution Raw data sheets and review templates
• Documented “Learning’s” as a result of the knowledge capture sessions
• Tower Due Diligence reports
• Documentation of tower benchmark data-points to improve the solution review process

Shared with Lead Architect:

- Undergraduate degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or electrical engineering or similar
- Proven written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel
- Problem solving, analytical skills (Approach problems in a rational manner using sound strategies that ensure comprehensive understanding and effective resolution)
- Priority setting, time management (Time management sensibilities when scheduling, allocating and prioritizing commitments )
- Communications/ presentation (Ability to communicate and present in a effective way)

Practice Architect: (shared plus)

- Five or more years’ experience in technical solution design for complex IT environments
- Engagement and practical knowledge with Two or more years’ experience in any Retail, Manufacturing, Health Science, Pharmaceutical, Commercial or Transportation industry.
- Extensive project management experience in IT environments.
- Broad technical knowledge across Mobility & Workplace disciplines inclusive of subject matter expertise in 1 area (Mobility, Messaging/Collaboration, Client Virtualisation, Client lifecycle management services, Asset management, Service desk, Field service support, Software licensing, Active directory)
- Awareness of new technologies and Market requirements (Social Media, O365, EMS, Google4work)
