Wintel Subject Matter Expert

The Global Engineering and Technical Consulting team is responsible for architecture and engineering and integration of Data Center Services & Cloud solutions based on the standards or nonstandard portfolio offerings. Often our services are utilized during the transformation phase to help a client move from “current state” to “future state”. We enable accounts and delivery teams to provide DCS and Cloud Services that were contracted with the client.

The Wintel Engineer applies Windows Operating System technical knowledge to solve complex business requirements and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Uses consulting skills including, but not limited to: interviewing clients to understand business needs, developing technical solutions, and working with multiple teams to accomplish project deliverables. Capable of consulting, designing, testing, implementing, managing capability requirements into a new or existing infrastructure using HP methodology. Able to integrate custom software components into the environment and provide third level production infrastructure support.

Responsibilities:
· Build & Deployment of Virtual and Physical servers, and troubleshooting of the related issues
· Creation and maintenance of the customization ISO files in use in the virtual environment: VM template + ISO = standard server deployed to the relevant domain
· Documentation of processes for the complete virtual server build flow, including updates, testing and Quality Assurance
· Creation and maintenance of scripted processes for server builds and ad-hoc scripts for the support of the Virtual infrastructure (capacity reports, health status)
· Collaboration with other teams to provide Windows Server 2012 and ESXi 5.5 to the Customer’s estates
· Training of new build engineers
· Hands & eyes for the Wintel Technical Design community
· Responsible for client/account interactions as required
· Responsible for producing part or all of the technical solution for the account/client, in accordance with an agreed technical design
· Responsible for the engineering of end to end solutions as required
· Responsible for design, development, implementation using the Global Engineering specifications, methodology and practical application of ITIL practices and processes
· Responsible for documenting project requirements, risks, design, test plans, deployment procedures and operation/support procedures following the Global Engineering Quality Management Process (GE QMS) standards"
· Responsible for providing third level production support for client/account escalations and/or system outages
