Job Responsibilities:
Establish Engineering Standards for Linux environments used within the Managed VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) environment.
• Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex solutions. Coordinates activities with other technical personnel as appropriate.
• Develops and analyzes highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system performance.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards for RedHat Linux and SuSE Enterprise Linux.
• Assist with security compliance & adherence to security standards for the Linux products used within VPC.
• Assist with automation development for the Linux products used within VPC.
• Maintain roadmap data for Linux products used within VPC.
• Maintain deployment documentation for Linux products used within VPC.
• Evaluates products and upgrades for appropriateness. Oversees and implements system upgrade strategies.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots problems with the virtualization environment including VMware and Linux O/S.
• Assist with development and maintenance of standards for VMware virtualization environment.

• Extensive Linux OS Experience - design, implement, and manage Linux environments, particularly RHEL and SLES.
• Scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, etc).
• Knowledge of and working experience with Hypervisors (VMware preferred, KVM & Hyper-V appreciated).
• Knowledge of and working experience with security standards (ESIS, SOC2/3, PCI).
• Network knowledge, skills and demonstrated experience in a complex network data center environment.
• Independent problem solver with troubleshooting, decision making and analytical skills.
• Requires limited supervision, self-starter, strong time management skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to handle competing work demands.
• Verbal and written communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to communicate to nontechnical audience on technical issues.
