Job description, responsibilities and duties

The communications specialist is a skilled writer and creative communicator who is inspired and committed to engaging people and organisations in to Greenpeace’s campaigns. His/Her/Its responsibility is to develop and implement communications projects and strategies that help achieve Greenpeace organisational, campaign and fundraising goals.


Your main tasks and duties:
- Proactively develop relationships with external communication specialists such as media, commentators, advertising agencies that are strategic to meet campaign or organisational goals; cooperate with external partners (organizations, agencies, celebrities, artists and potential donors)
- Write press releases, media briefings and online content and effectively manage output
- Input and champion innovative, creative and new communications opportunities for campaigns and organisation
- Take part in designing, producing and managing communications output for campaigns and organisational projects implementation
- Write compelling, creative content for campaign materials, fundraising and organisational materials and for online content
- Upload content on the website greenpeace.sk (blogs, press releases, job offers, etc.)
- Take care of social media (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, etc.)
- Writing newsletters
- Speaking in the name of the organisation
- Controlling grammar of all the documents
- Oversee the production and distribution of video and photo content
- Provide clear briefs to and manage photographers, videographers, other contractors and volunteers as required
- Ensure the content reflects the brand, values and tone of the organisation, is in line with communications strategies and reaches the target audiences
