Job description, responsibilities and duties
- System administration of infrastructure (virtual machines, OS, networks)
- System architecture design and implementation (preparation and design of new environments)
- Trouble shooting, problem determination and implementing solutions and fixes
- Management of virtual Windows and Linux servers, ensuring system performance and availability, monitoring
- Management of development and applications systems (Tomcat, Drupal, Glassfish, WebSphere, IBM MQ)
- Network administration
- IT security
- DB administration (MySQL, MSSQL, DB2 and others)
- Batch/Cron jobs management
- Documentation
- On call duties
- Deployments, backups, restores for app and DB (production and test environments)
- Working pro-actively with development and support teams
Main focus is on Windows server administration, active directory, group policies and security, managing virtual cloud solutions, architecture and design of new environments, WebSphere and IBM products (DB2 and IBM MQ). For DB2 our client has separate database admins, so not necessarily deep knowledge is required.

Personality requirements and skills
- You have suitable technical education and background.
- You have several (5+) years of experience from operating and maintaining Windows server systems preferably in banking environments using web technology (PHP, Java, MySQL, DB2, IBM MQ, WebSphere, VMware), active directory.
- You have good knowledge of Linux systems administration.
- You have good communication skills and previous software development experience is considered a benefit.
- Previous work experience in financial services industry, experience from layered SOA architectures as well as J2EE and PHP frameworks are all considered a benefit.
