Application Specialist

Our client is a Silicon Valley based, leading wireless location company currently seeking an Application Specialist.

Successful candidate will be a part of team located in Slovakia and will be responsible for client´s system integration into the wireless carrier’s network & support all technical operational issues related to the product.
In this role you will work closely with customer’s IT, Switch & RF Engineering teams. You will also interface with their program management, field engineering and product engineering for successful rollout and deployment of the products.

Job responsibilities will also include:
• Install and configure software
• Work with Carriers to obtain all information and execute activities related to integration of client´s systems with carrier core networks
• Monitor, debug and resolve any issues related to system yield and performance
• Support the regular maintenance and upgrade activities related to client´s systems
• Manage client´s verification lab to achieve the following:
- New release validation (installation, upgrades, feature validation)
- Patch testing (installation, patch sanity testing, patch soak)
- Reproduction of customer field issues
- Training (customer and new hire training)
• Troubleshoot customer issues, raises bugs and follow issues to closure
• Provide customer training on the product
• Provide product feedback to product development

IT

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

• 5+ years background in IT (preferably IT consulting, solution architecture) including work experience in the points mentioned in the Position Description;
• Must have a working knowledge of IT operations and management obtained within Telecom, Banking, Industrial areas;
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills;
• German and other EU language is a plus;
• Highly motivated, enterprising, fast and proactive learner, excellent team player;
• Solid hands-on experience with some or all of the following disciplines:
• Cross platform system administration (Unix and Windows)
• Scripting / programming (e.g. UNIX shell, Perl, Python...)
• Database Administration (e.g. Oracle, SQL…)
• Networking (Cisco iOS, Net Gear routers)
• Willingness to travel for billable utilization of up to 70% (esp. in Europe and Middle East but may extend to worldwide).

• Professional training for the product in Silicon Valley, California
• Travel and Expenses – All travel and related costs including but not limited to accommodation, transportation, medical, insurance, telephone, local transportation, daily allowances will be provided and paid by GlobalLogic
• Travel bonus – salary will be adjusted to compensate business trip up to 60%
