Product Specialist - Data (Bratislava/Vienna)

Nature and aim of the Position
The Product Specialist Data will play a mixture of a technical business consultant and a developer role within the Global Blue Data Product Management team responsible for Business Intelligence and Analytics technology. The day-to-day responsibilities will include the participation in multiple initiatives providing technical oversight, the hands-on execution of BI tasks as part of pilots and proof-of-concepts following a fail-fast approach and the exploration of potential future platforms and solutions in the BI area.

Your expertise enables you to balance the market requirements and technology needs with a clear understanding on where the overall industry is heading. You are able to “Wow” your internal and external customers by communicating a compelling big-picture vision and the drive you present in making this vision in collaboration with diverse cross-functional teams a reality.
In this role, you are working as part of the Data Product Management team and you are interacting with the Business Units, Commercial Units as well as all other functions inside Technology.

Main duties and responsibilities
• Supports the definition of the strategy and roadmap for the Data product line
• Building and refining Data products from existing ideas, and developing new ideas based on industry experience and contact with customers and prospects
• Conducting competitive analyses, articulating differentiators, and defining positioning and product evolution
• Partnering closely with peers across the organization to ensure we are delivering products that WOW both our internal teams and our end customers
• Provides Presales Support to Commercial/Business Unit as technical advisor in front of customers (merchants, authorities, etc.)
• Demonstrates an understanding of data modeling (relationships, data types, tables, etc.), data mapping (between source and target databases; mapping screen fields to database columns) and analytics concepts (queries, reporting, association of data sources)
• Performs analysis of existing reports, user requests, and recommends best practices and efficiencies for data production
• Identifies and establishes data validation rules and procedures
• Collects and interprets data from various internal and external structured and unstructured sources to enable integration into the overall Intelligence platform
• Ability to read, analyse, interpret, software procedures, manuals, professional journals, technical procedures, as well as health system operations and workflows.
• Participate in implementation planning as well as knowledge of data that flows into the data warehouse to meet customer needs.

• Ability to work under pressure or when required to multi-task
• Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural, multinational environment and mobilize cross-functional high performance teams
• Good command of English (Additional languages considered as asset)
