- Experience with developing of complex IT systems with hundreds thousand lines of code.
- Understanding how code works on hardware (network has latency, CPU has caches, threads tend to deadlock, web services love to time-out, ...)
- Not just having in CV, but hands-on experience with lots of IT buzz-words - the longer the better! (JPA, SQL, XML, JSON, CSS, HTML5, RTFM, EC2, RegEx, Shibboleet... )
- Utilizing scripting languages where appropriate (Python, JavaScript, Action Script, Bash, Perl, Groovy, Velocity, JSF).
- Being flexible with platform (Linux vs Windows vs others)
- Belief that anything you know and use is not the Holy Grail, simply because the World changes and some people also live in parallel Worlds.
