As part of our growing Global Operations Centre in Budapest, you'll be a part of the finance team that supports GE's affiliates across 31 countries in Europe. Reporting to the European Operations Leader, as an Accounts Payable Manager, you will lead a diverse team and work across businesses to deliver strong accounting and ensure compliance across all operations. Your value-add will be to drive simplification and consistency across GE and further evolve efficiencies. Reporting to the European Operations Leader, your role as Accounts Payable Manager will include:-
• Leading a team of AP Analysts administering standardized accounting procedures in line with GE Policy, local accounting regulations and US GAAP
• Manager and perform month end close activities to ensure submission to deadlines
• Establish and lead Buy to Pay Operation functions in the countries/commodities/businesses that you are assigned to
• Ensure excellence in AP standardization in the major businesses that shall be assigned to them in compliance with B2P Enterprise Standards and run simplification across AP processes
• Follow internal controls to prevent compliance risks
• Analyze financial transactions, determine accuracy and ensure completeness as well as compliance to established policies and procedures and GAAP
• Drive a benchmark process to ensure that they meet/exceed the best in class Buy to Pay metrics (percentage of electronic invoices, average receipt days, cost per invoice)
• Interact and respond to auditor queries both internal and external as necessary
• Develop and improve capability of the team through coaching and mentoring and ensure great employee engagement
• Strong leadership and performance management

What we are looking for in Accounts Payable Managers
• Written and verbal fluency in English. An additional European language is highly advantageous
• Proven experience leading teams in Accounts Payable, preferably within a Shared Service Center environment
• Experience of leading and motivating teams of professionals to deliver to consistently high standards
• Proven ability to drive team performance with a focus on quantitative and qualitative metrics
• Comfortable delivering against quantitative and qualitative performance metrics
• Compliance & controllership mindset
• Proven aptitude to optimize processes and increase efficiency.
• Demonstrated strengths in problem-solving, adaption to a fast-paced environment and ability to communicate with all levels of stakeholders
• Strong leadership and performance management
