Job description, responsibilities and duties

- Is responsible for maintaining the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the systems environment.
- Monitors systems, responds to problems and plans for growth.
- Provides in depth systems analysis.
- Designs, installs, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots complex operating systems software and related program products.
- Provides technical consulting on the use and integration of applications into the operating environment.
- Patching AIX / Unix / Linux environment,
- Deploy new builds, updating and deploying VIO servers, troubleshooting Unix based environment
- On call support outside business hours

- Technical support of Operating Systems
- Creating standard server builds
- Updating servers with latest technology level and service packs
- Creating standard process for security policy
- Preparing work status report and updating technology specific documents
- Remote administration of servers for any problem across offices
- Disaster Recovery
- Administration of PowerVM parts and High-availability clusters
- Track & trace systems
- Large system migrations & infrastructure projects (data centre network and server infrastructure)
- Experience with Unix (preferred AIX) system administration including design of Unix (AIX)
- Infrastructure and integration into new and existing virtual and physical systems.
- Experience with Power hardware design, troubleshooting, server tuning,
- Optimization,and capacity planning.
