JOB DESCRIPTION

The Live-in Caregiver stays in the client's home and provides non-medical, in-home support and home management services twenty-four hours a day. She provides companionship to those individuals requiring socialization and minimum guidance for a safe, protected, clean, and orderly environment. The Live-in Caregiver is provided with private sleeping quarters.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED and has completed any state-mandated training. Previous experience is preferred. In addition, she has a genuine desire to work with the elderly or disabled, reliable transportation, a valid driver's license. Fluent English speaking and skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Helps client with all personal care functions as needed
• Helps client at mealtimes and monitors eating habits
• Helps client to and from daily activities
• Performs light housekeeping tasks and assists with laundry
• Communicates with clients and families regarding care
• Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
QUALIFICATIONS
________________________________________
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Previous experience required (minimum 1 year)
• Successful completion of any state-mandated training
• Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Reliable transportation
