The ICT Business Area has the responsibility for developing and operating critical ICT solutions and capabilities supporting the core mission and support processes of Europol. The ICT Operations group also provides a contact point for services regarding technical enquiries of Member States and Europol staff. The ICT Operations Group is comprised of several functional teams (e.g. Infrastructure Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, Application Operations, IT Operations Center, Service Management and Service Desk) together with an Embedded Security Team that spans across functional teams in a matrix fashion. The successful candidate will be part of the ICT Operations Group, Infrastructure Engineering Team within the ICT Business Area working as a Specialist – ICT. Among the main responsibilities:

• Responsible for the engineering of all Storage Systems and Server Virtualisations platforms with Europol using the latest technologies and trends;

• Design and integrate Storage Solutions like server storage, redundancy & failover, backup & restore and disaster recovery;

• Continuous improvement of the environments to meet the latest customer demands in terms of performance and scalability;

• Create and maintain project-related technical documentation, including design and deployment documentation, in cooperation with the Architecture Team;

• Lead the implementation of new solutions

• Follow closely product evolution, market and technology trends and create fit/no-fit analysis to Europol needs and expected/identified usage scenarios;

• Perform any other tasks in the area of competence as assigned by the line management;

Your profile: We are looking for candidates from all EU Member States, who have: experience in translating Architecture design documentation into a High Level Design and an implementable Low Level Design including related documentation for hand over to Operations; hands on experience with designing and integrating Storage Solutions like server storage, redundancy & failover, backup & restore and disaster recovery; experience in setting up Storage Capacity reporting, with Storage performance measurement and optimisation

Monthly salary: approx. 4,172.96 EUR (net without allowance) and approx. 5,967.87 EUR (net with allowances – if applicable[1])
