Job description, responsibilities and duties

The European Alliance for Innovation; www.eai.eu is a community-driven organization devoted to empowering ICT innovation in Europe. EAI provides an environment for ICT innovation community interaction that is both virtual and physical. In particular EAI crowd evaluation tools for publications have been recognized by the European Commission as a ground breaking approach to supporting idea dissemination.

EAI is now seeking an intern to support the Finance Manager at EAI Office in Slovakia, who is responsible for day to day finance activities.

Specific Job responsibilities will include:

• Collecting Purchase Order Requests, verifying that PO data matches the quote, keeping an accurate record of the requests in an excel spreadsheet and reporting any irregularities.
• Providing support in data management of processed Purchase Orders (such as filing paper documents and organizing them by quarter).
• Keeping track of Accounts Payables per Conference ensuring that each expense item remains within expense limits of the conference budget.
• support with organizing financial documentation by conference.
• Supporting the Finance Manager when needed.

Personality requirements and skills

Technical skills:
• Good command of English and good communication skills;
• Minimum one year of University level studies in fields of Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar.
• Able to collect, evaluate and interpret data, in both statistical and narrative form.
• Excellent knowledge of computers and standard office equipment is required.
• Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of accounting and financial analysis will be considered a plus.

Organization skills:
• Prioritization, time management skills and capability to adapt to dynamic environments;
• Attitude to collaborative working.
