Job description, responsibilities and duties

The European Alliance for Innovation; www.eai.eu is a community-driven organization devoted to empowering ICT innovation in Europe. EAI provides an environment for ICT innovation community interaction that is both virtual and physical. In particular EAI crowd evaluation tools for publications have been recognized by the European Commission as a ground breaking approach to supporting idea dissemination.

EAI is now seeking a Publication Technical Assistant for EAI Office in Slovakia. Serving as the content and technical support in publications, you would be responsible for content processing, production and maintenance, including journals and European Union Digital Library (EUDL). You will be responsible for the processes that drives acquisition of materials communicating as needed with the Publications Manager, the authors, relevant EAI volunteer community and EAI IT technical support.

Technical skills:

-Web savvy, with a good knowledge of social networking and latest web tools and trends;
-HTML/CSS, XML, MS Word, LateX;
-Graphics for image editing and manipulation (Photoshop/Gimp);
-Knowledge of programming (PHP, Javascript) and Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus;
-Experience in understanding scientific publications and dissemination a plus;
-Excellent command of English (level C1 certification).

Specific Job responsibilities will include:

-Working collaboratively with the content authors and as needed with event/journal organizers in charge of content;
-Working with editors to assure editorial procedures and deadlines;
-Being a point of contact for authors, editors and other external stakeholders for ensuring timely content production;
-Being the technical contact for support on editing of web publication tools;
-Processing and online publication of materials and maintaining the correct form, database and related tools of the journals, proceedings and EUDL;
-Assuring proper online indexing of publications;
-Collaborate with the IT development team for the maintenance and evolution of the related web tools.

-Ability to work hands-on and with limited supervision;
-Attitude to collaborative working.
