Job description, responsibilities and duties

Job Summary
GBS Finance Specialist Accounts Payable will be responsible for executing specific finance processes and delivering services and results to the business units (internal clients). She/he will act as an internal consultant regarding finance processes, supporting the business with the necessary expertise for the Finance SSC operation.

GBS Finance Specialist will be responsible for:
- executing processes efficiently, on-time and with quality
- performing daily activities oriented to service level achievement
- identifying and implementing opportunities of continuous improvement on the performed activities

Main duties
- Act as a contact person with business units / internal clients
- Accounting according to Slovak and international rules (IFRS, US GAAP)
- Processing, monitoring and financial control of accounting transactions based on the specification
- Verification and finalization of documents for financial statements preparation
- Calculation and preparation postings for accruals/provisions and prepayments
- Ensure that all postings are done with accurancy, in line with local, US GAAP and company policy
- Intracompany reconciliation and other Balance sheet accounts reconciliations
- Regular pre-closing, closing and post closing activities
- Participation on standardization of accounting processes
- Cooperation with auditors
- Focal point for team and support for Leader
- Reporting

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Educational Specialization

Finance / Accounting / Economics or equivalent

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

Experience and Education Required
• University education with focus on finance / accounting / economics or equivalent coupled with accounting designation
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience
• Working experience from international company / SSC – nice to have


Skills and Knowledge Required
• Knowledge and experience with SAS, IFRS and US GAAP - nice to have
• Good communication skills
• Ability to learn new subjects related to finance processes operation
• Focus in delivering results, processes and customer satisfaction
• Adequate relationship with internal clients and different levels of the company
• Fluent in English – as a must
• Second language (Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Italian) - nice to have
• Excel, PowerPoint
