Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

• Reports directly to CFO
• GL accounting
• Coordinates monthly closing process
• Prepares financial statements under local GAAP
• Prepares monthly/quarterly reports for the Group
• Prepares tax returns as VAT, income tax and road tax
• Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures
• Assures compliance with tax regulation
• Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
• Develops policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
• Develops, implements and upgrades financial systems and controls
• Contributes to department and organization special projects as assigned
• Works with both internal and external auditors and advisors
• Communicates with Tax Authorities
• Plans, assigns, and directs work of a small team of accountants
• Ensures timely and correct performance of selected accounting processes

Secondary with school-leaving examination
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• Min. experience of 4 years in the field of accounting
• Fluent English
• German language is an advantage
• One or more years of experience in managing people (manager or teamleader) is strong advantage
• Master degree, in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred; ACCA qualification is an advantage
• Very good understanding of local accounting rules and IFRS
• Very good understanding of tax rules
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Excel
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks
• Accuracy in daily work and other projects
• Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
• Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management
