What will you do?

  • As Lead Architect, you will plan and implement modern infrastructures to enable the Applications to build their solutions on a reliable infrastructure within the Hyperscalers and in our datacenters.

  • You will work in a dynamic team and act as a trustworthy partner and mentor to implementation teams, assuring they have access to and are applying the appropriate technical stack and guidelines consistently.

  • To ensure this in the long term, you will be in regular dialogue with both management and architecture teams.

  • You will design, develop, build, secure, and maintain modern infrastructures which are needed to create a vast experience for our customers at scale.

  • You will ensure teams are able operate those infrastructures / platforms to ensure that they function to the highest standards of quality whilst scaling to accommodate peak demands.

  • - You will be responsible to guide teams and accountable for creating re-usable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in order to create re-useable code (i.e. modules, packages etc.).

  • You will be responsible to apply software engineering best-practices to our infra-oriented work.

  • You will drive project, security and enterprise level guidelines and assure their consistent application in deliveries.

  • You will review existing implementations, capture new requirements, identify opportunities, and work on enablers to facilitate and drive continuous improvement in the development of capabilities.

In addition the role is responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision for an Agile Release Train (ART) to help ensure the System or Solution under development is fit for its intended purpose. Architects describe the Solution Context and Solution Intent, analyze technical trade-offs, determine the primary components and subsystems, identify the interfaces and collaborations between them, define Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs), guide Enablers through the Program and Solution Kanban systems, and work with Product Management, Solution Management, customers, and Suppliers to help ensure fitness for purpose. They play a critical role in aligning teams on the Agile Release Train (ART) to a shared technical direction and partner with those teams in elaborating the Solution, validating technology assumptions, evaluating implementation alternatives, and creating the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
The SA is an active member of the Community of Agile Engineering (CAE) in our hub and drives the development of the engineering maturity of the teams.

You will succeed if you:

  • You are an experienced Architect who comfortably shifts between legacy infrastructure and SDN based solutions within Hyperscalers and our private cloud and have:

  • Deep expertise in Infrastructure as a Code and Software engineering best-practices

  • Expertise with enterprise grade cloud infrastructure and its automation

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud (AWS, GCP) and VMWare standard services.

  • Experience in Design and Implementation of central infrastructures as a code for sovereign cloud based on public cloud provider's capabilities

  • Profound knowledge of modern methods, processes, procedures, and techniques of IT service development.

  • Practical skills in the analysis of complex requirements and the recognition of overarching relationships.

  • Persuasiveness and communication / argumentation skills at management level.

  • Fluency in English, German is advantage.
