Senior Tax Analyst for EMEA VAT (Cover for Maternity Leave)
GENERAL SUMMARY
Dell's EMEA VAT team manages VAT and related compliance in the EMEA region. As part of a wider regional tax team, the team is involved in the management of central and local companies. The team reviews all transactions going through the VAT return preparation and analyses outputs and inputs in detail, working alongside our cosourced service providers. There is an ongoing effort to improve current processes and team members are involved in compliance projects and business process improvement. The work involves liaising with different functions across EMEA and interacting with a wide range of Dell teams from different backgrounds, countries and cultures, as well as local tax authorities, customers and suppliers.
This would be an ideal role for someone with minimum 2 years’ experience in a VAT role in practice (3 years mixed tax) or in a VAT shared services environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and review of VAT returns and statistical reporting, working with our partner external service provider to produce high-quality, accurate submissions;
Review changes and new opportunities in European VAT law and implement them into reporting, advising other functions of relevant changes;
Proactively identify weaknesses in current processes and identify solutions;
Support the business in identifying the correct VAT treatment of transactions e.g. purchases and sales requirements;
Assistance in internal and external audits and liaising with relevant tax authorities on ad hoc queries;
Preparation of financial statements and supporting documentation relating to the VAT accounts
Assisting with the development, mentoring and training of junior staff

QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate should have good Excel skills with at least a basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word. They should be a confident self-starter who is good at meeting tight deadlines under pressure and is happy to work as part of a team.
