*SDO has role of Incident manager for major incidents and Problem manager for major problems. SDO has also role of Service Level manager. *Service delivery owner (SDO) acts as the linking pin between the ICT organisation and the business organisation in service operation matters. *SDO is responsible for ensuring that the ICT organisation provides services that meet the service levels agreed with customers. He or she acts as the customer’s single point of contact (SPOC) for ICT services. *SDO establishes the quality and price of service based on the underlying products in the form of an SLA and regularly reports on it. *SDO acts as an escalation, coordination and information channel for the customer in the event of serious incidents within ICT. *SDO also continue to follow up on resolving root cause of major incident. This report must also provide an insight into actions taken in order to prevent similar incidents from occurring in future. *SDO is responsible for the E2E coordination of responses to serious interruptions in service and incidents. *Within the ICT organisation, he or she has authority to call in individuals from all areas of the organisation to assist in resolving serious incidents.

*SDO should be well oriented in processes of Incident management, Problem management and Service Level management within ITIL (or other framework). *SDO must have an overarching view and insight into the applications and technology of the various ICT domains. *He or she must have a wide knowledge of the ICT organisation (including the processes and the organisational structure) and must be able to operate comfortably and independently within the organisation. *He or she must have analytical reasoning capabilities and a healthy, critical mind. *He or she must be able to cope with stress and must be able to respond to situations quickly and in a well thought-out manner. *He or she must have a strong communication skills to be able to act as business entities’ SPOC for daily operations and the quality of ICT services *He or she must be able to express him or herself both verbally and in writing in a clear and structured manner, using the appropriate business speak and terminology. *SDO does not have any direct supervisory tasks. He or she is however expected to regularly provide task-oriented guidance. *SDO must have strong facilitating skills. *He or she must be able to put things into perspective and place events within a context. He or she must be able to cope with floating agenda. *SDO must be flexible with regard to his or her timetable, in the sense that an SDO works 24/7 (due to his or her role in terms of escalation in the event of serious incidents) and must also assume the role of weekend coordinator. *He or she must be able to collaborate with employees at various levels of the organisation and be able to cope with emotional pressure in the event of opposition and convert this into cooperation and participation. *Experience in the field at least 5 years. *English is a must – both writing and verbal communication
