Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for a person who will work in the Infrastructural Technology Area, as a member of the DBA Team in charge of the installation, configuration and maintenance of the Corporate database services.

The person selected will work under the coordination and responsibility of the Italian IT Coordinator, executing the tasks requested by applying applications changes, troubleshooting and tuning activities.
A strong respect of the Company’s policies and processes is absolutely a must, the candidate should also be able to act in a proactive way, being autonomous in monitoring and performance analysis.

Personality requirements and skills

It is required a specific 4-6 years of professional experience in the setup and administration of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database.

In addition to a solid knowledge about Oracle and SQL Server RDBMS, it requested to provide these technical expertise:

-Understanding Database Design
-Capacity of Installing and patching Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
-Solid knowledge/hands on experience developing/maintaining OLTP database (Application change request, Index Maintenance, Statistics Maintenance, etc..)
-Backing up and Restoring databases (Model, Backup Types, Planning recovery strategy, etc…)
-Basic knowledge on Microsoft and Oracle High Availability and Business Continuity Technologies and Architectures
-Expertise on PL/SQL language

Expertise in the following are not mandatory but will be considered preferential title:

-Basic knowledge on storage architecture and design
-Resource capacity planning experience (CPU, Memory, I/O, etc)
-Basic knowledge on administering Windows and Linux Enterprise Operative Systems
-Implementing and maintaining security in a Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Environment

Standard working hours are from 9:00am to 6pm (with 1 hour lunch break). Availability to work out of the business hours is expected but not regularly requested.
