Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Business

We are looking for candidates for the position of Production Manager in Rohožník. The Production Manager will manage the whole production process to ensure that the defined quantity of finished and semi-finished product is ready for delivery on time, within the specified quality and budgeted costs.

Key tasks & Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, manages and monitors the production (shifts, dispatch and railway) to achieve the quantities stipulated, within the desired quality level, costs budgeted and personnel needs.
  • Regularly monitors the performance; analyses the gaps and potentials to imrove and uses resources available to improve people, processes and equipment.
  • Sets targets, informs and motivates production personnel, ensures their availability and performance according to plant needs and promotes their professional development through coaching, individual development plans and trainings.
  • Analyses and requests the resources for budget. Follows up spends. Takes a lead in continuous improvement process.
  • Ensures that the functioning of department is in accordance with the OH&S and environmental procedures. Establishes safety culture and tackle specific actions to ensure health prevention during production activities. Ensures plant cleanliness within production premises.
  • Together with the Process Performance Engineer / Manager and using experience in other plants, consider and propose new techniques and/or technologies to optimize costs and to improve productivity of the installed equipment. Use experience from other plants or industries.
  • Contribute and enhance the implementation of standards through appropriate communication, optimization of processes and structures, supervision and control of their use for activities under responsibility.

Personality requirements and skills

The successful candiate will have a proven technical, operational and managerial skills. He should demonstrate operational and leadership skills, strong communication ability, and proven ability to deliver results.

Applicants should fulfil the following criteria:
  • University degree in engineering or chemistry.
  • 5 years of experience with cement industry, dealing with production, quality or maintenance.
  • 5 years experience with managing projects for heavy industry or in an engineering company.
  • Active knowledge of English language is necessity.
  • Active knowledge of Slovak language is a beneficial.
  • Profound knowledge of cement production process.
  • Good understanding of project costing structure.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience with people management.
