System Engineer- Cloud solutions

Engineer is focused on the technical design, support and engineering. The focus of this team is to engineer solutions primarily for the Cloud solutions/ virtualization. 

Key responsibilities 

• Provides technical subject matter expertise for area(s) of focus 
• Provides focused input for the service engineering roadmaps and executes their part of the roadmap implementation 
• Tests technology components, evaluates and qualifies supplier technology based on technology roadmaps and Architecture Strategy 
• Ability to translate Architecture Requirement definitions into technical service engineering deliverables including CTP Documentation, Bills of Material (with Product Groups), cost,... 
• Creates/drives automation of operational tasks/process in their area of expertise in line with Cloud Automation strategy 
• Support the Architecture Team in documenting technical requirements for dependent components and maintain relationships with the product engineering function that owns the dependent component to ensure it meets requirements. Understand base components from Building Block Groups that make up service and any customizations required for the service (which parameters are needed for each module, are there any specific changes needed at the component level for integration into the Cloud service) and provide feedback on Cloud requirements to Component Groups 
• Provide reusable Cloud Service Components to Building block Groups for usage outside of Cloud services 
• Provide Lab level Support for Deployed Cloud solutions 
• Support Cloud service Deployments into new Cloud locations 
• Support the integration of tools & process into delivery Services, working closely with the Cloud delivery 
• Provide Delivery trainings for new services as required 
• Support Release and Deployment engineers 
• Works closely with the Service Architect, Offering Management, Services Engineering colleagues and the Operations/Delivery teams 
Requirements 

Education and Experience Required 

• Master degree in computer science, information systems, Electrical engineering or equivalent experience is required 
• ITIL foundation certificate (advantage) 

Knowledge and Skills Required 

• 5-7 Years System Administration Experience (depending on position applied for) 
• 1-3 Years of setup, patching and incident and customer deployment Automation experience 
• 1-3 Years of Firewall and Networking experience. Recognized Certification an advantage (CCNA etc.) 
• Highly motivated, ability to engage with peer and cross functional teams on a proactive basis to resolve complex challenges 
• Passion for customers and delivering quality, industry leading automated solutions in a cloud environment 
• Flexible approach with an ability to clearly articulate complex challenges to both technical and business audiences
