Job description, responsibilities and duties

Functions

As part of the Converter Controls Electronics team you will take on the dual role of electronics systems project leader and hands-on electronics engineer.

As electronics system project leader: you will :


Lead a team of electronics engineers and technicians.

Oversee and manage the projects under the team's remit, proactively and reactively managing project risks.

Understand, analyse and document user requirements.

Be the technical lead, setting the direction for the system electronics.

Lead and coordinate the implementation of programmable logic devices in the system, including versioning and documenting the RTL code.

Develop and execute plans for development, production, installation and commissioning of the modular converter controls electronics systems.

Report on progress, monitoring and solving issues as they arise.


As electronics engineer: you will :


Design, implement, test and document electronic modules used in converter controls.

Create digital electronic circuits, with some small analogue functions.

Implement programmable logic devices, by using RTL code, such as VHDL.

Provide maintenance and debug information to be used during exploitation.

Qualification required

Master's degree in the field of Electronics or electricity (or equivalent).

The experience required for this post is:


Electronic engineering project leadership: proven experience in leading an engineering team and delivering engineering solutions.

System level design and engineering: designing and developing system solutions from user requirements down through to bit level implementation.

Electronics design and engineering: developing reliable and robust electronic modules.

Programmable logic design: design and realisation of electronics based on Field-Programmable Gate Arrays and/or Programmable Logic Devices.


The technical competencies required for this post are:


Project management.

Design of electronics for digital control systems and loops: low-level digital electronic design.

Design and development of systems based on standardized electronic modules.
