Job description, responsibilities and duties

Functions

As an Electrical Engineer in the Low Voltage Section, you will actively take part in the maintenance and renovation of the electrical distribution network of CERN. You will manage maintenance contracts and contractor teams, and you will provide technical expertise and guidance for electrical installations. You will:


Carry out or check electrical load analyses, equipment sizing, calculation and selection.

Write technical specifications.

Implement appropriate safety policies for the electrical distribution networks.

Manage maintenance and supply contracts.

Draw up quality and risk prevention plans for the maintenance activities.

Set up plans which allow to solve the recurring problems encountered with the electrical systems.

Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with safety rules.

Qualification required

Master's degree in the field of electrical engineering, or equivalent.

The experience required for this post is:

Proven experience in design, maintenance and management of high-voltage and low-voltage power networks and components for a large industrial site.

The technical competencies required for this post are:


Contract management

Commissioning, maintenance & operation of electrical distribution systems.

Expertise in the design of HV and LV networks & substations

Expertise of international standards such as IEC and electrical safety rules;

Expertise in design calculations, network analysis and simulation.
