Job description, responsibilities and duties
Team Lead: Take responsibility for the planning and management of our remote teams (Sprint Planning, Technology Solution Evaluation & Drafting).
Participate in non-development tasks that might arise from business (interface with 3rd parties & customers, write / contribute to articles that describe interesting aspects of our work, etc …).
Deputy for the head of research with regard to planning and management tasks.

The candidate must possess a thorough background in both software engineering & project management.
Required Skills Project Management:
Agile Development Practices (Scrum, Kanban, good understanding of the agile manifesto)
Principles of Software Architecture & Design (design for maintainability & robustness).
Required Skills Technical:
In depth experience of Java development (including Maven, JUnit, CheckStyle, Jenkins)
Familiarity with Dependency Injection (one of Spring, OSGI, Guice)
Experience in developing cloud-based services & distributed software architectures
Distributed Versioning Systems (git, mercurial)
Advantageous Skills / Nice to Have:
Knowledge in Information Retrieval (IR) or Natural Language Processing (NLP)
High Performance Computing experience
Application & Internet Security experience
Python, Ruby, R proficiency
