Job description, responsibilities and duties

Responsibility for local shipping department

  • Managing & coaching the team of traffic department (7 direct reports)
  • Executing transport needs (export/import) based on internal requirements from different plants/departments
  • Responsible for complete process of transport ordering, monitoring of on time arrival for loading, solving of non-standard situations/requirements
  • Active communication with transport companies regarding service & capacities
  • Transport complaints solving
  • Approving supplier invoices, analyze & reporting transport-costs
  • Monitoring service performance of carriers & prepare the data for future tenders

Transport project management within Europe

  • Fine-tune current set-up of current traffic department – question “status-quo”
  • Optimize Transporeon software usage inc. reporting tools within CEE
  • Set-up KPI for carriers in Hlohovec, to be able to roll-out within Europe for further benchmarking
  • Set-up workload model for team of traffic dpt. & roll it out within Europe for further benchmarking.
  • Fine-tune existing IT solutions within transport processes & initiate improvements
  • Explore future possibility to further optimization of traffic organization within CEE
  • Participate on different optimization projects based on business needs

Order handling coordination

  • Managing & coaching the team of “dealing room” (back-office) - 1 direct report + 4 indirect reports
  • Executing all “back-office” activities to support sales team outside of plant in field of:
 New products technical possibilities
 Info about actual costs
 Available capacities
 Possible delivery terms
 Returnable packing material handling
 Safety stocks & capacity reservations handling
 Obsolete stocks handling
 Complaint handling (samples pick-up, material return….)
  • Final products availability follow-up (daily interaction with planning, quality, warehouse)
  • Give internal orders to shipping department to provide transport for requested quantity & time.

Your profile:

  • University education
  • Min. 3 years managerial experiences in logistics/transport
  • Leadership experiences
  • Team-player
  • Fluent English language
  • Good organizational & communication & presentation skills
  • Driving license “B”
  • Willingness to travel (20 % of time max)
  • Customer oriented
  • SAP system knowledge – advantage
