Job description, responsibilities and duties

This position has an overall responsibility and accountability for facility assets, personnel and achievement of the supply chain related business goals related to company logistics strategy. The logistics leader provides site leadership, as applicable, through participation on site teams and activities, ensuring that the structure and resources are in place to deliver "best in class" logistics performance.

The role of a Plant Logistics Leader is to manage logistics activities of a plant and deploy the plant's production & logistics policy. The main missions of the role are to:

• Ensure customer satisfaction: supervise day to day activities, anticipate customer requirements and maintain good relationships, manage the launch of new programs within the plant
• Lead the logistics team and set its long and short term objectives
• Ensure adequate staffing, training and development of team members
• Continuously improve the plant supply-chain based on lean principles and best practices, ensure the respect of company´s standards
• Monitor logistics processes: supervise day to day activities, prepare and propose the sales and operations plan to the plant management committee, improve & enhance performance and relationships of suppliers and logistics partners
• Ensure 100% on-time deliveries to customers while continuously reducing inventory levels and logistics costs
• Monitor logistics performance and implement necessary improvement actions in coordination with other plant functions (Quality, Production System Efficiency …)
• Guarantee the logistics efficiency by monitoring KPI and related action plans
• Ensure that resources are available to meet customer requirements, short term, mid-term and long term for both serial and service parts
• Manage day to day customer interface, participate at customer logistic audit
• Guarantee a smooth production plan through an efficient master plan process
• Anticipate mid/long-term capacity issues and propose solutions to the plant management
• Be part of global supply-chain network, be informed about best practices developed in other plants
• Take the part in launch readiness, manage all logistics activities to insure flawless product launch
• Promote safety culture in its area of responsibilities

YOUR PROFILE:
• A minimum 4-5 years in an operational role with people leader experience required
• Experience in a production or equivalent environment that preferably included leading material flow work
• Processes and logistics operations, along with people leadership responsibilities
• Strong technical and interpersonal skills along with a high level of initiative and sense of urgency are required for success in the role
• Planning and leadership ability, objective prioritization setting and the ability to work with multiple groups
• Computer literacy (SAP, Excel, Access) – Data analysis
• Dedication to safety
• English mandatory
• University degree

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
• Providing leadership and support through daily actions, coaching and guidance to the facility teams and individuals
• Representing the facility in the business strategy development and goal setting process. (I.e. EH&S metrics, Quality, performance, service costs, asset availability, operational reliability, etc.)
• Challenging teams and individuals to set, monitor and achieve goals aligned to the business and site strategies and goals
• Ensuring an effective EH&S program is in place to achieve EH&S goals and comply with regulatory and permit requirements
• Ensuring implementation and ongoing effectiveness of global work processes, operating discipline, management systems, enabling technologies and roles
• Ensuring necessary resources are in place to meet material flow requirements and enable specific manufacturing and business EBITDA goals
• Managing the systems to be in place to reduce operational variation, preserve and load quality products, and meet customer needs. Interfacing with clients and customers as required
• Networking within site and function to improve facility operation and drive performance excellence
