Job description, responsibilities and duties

Capacity Planning engineer for this position will be specifically focused on the network planning of production AT&T Mobility core network elements. Applies the necessary tools and planning principles to analyze & monitor system capacity in accordance with approved guidelines.
May provide short to long term planning for a specific technology which includes analysis, solution recommendations, and implementation strategies to complex business issues. These activities are the basis for capital deployment and allocation decisions.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Develops and evaluates network capacity & performance criteria and measurement methods for layer 4+ Mobility core network elements (EPC, Enterprise, IP, Signaling, Messaging elements etc.). Prepares the analysis of the short term or long term capacity needs in support of wireless and wireline infrastructure. May conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies. Studies and forecasts traffic drivers to determine short and/or long term capacity needs. May include all or some of the following functions: Recommends strategic network architecture planning and network evolution policy decisions in support of corporate initiatives, customer demand, technology changes, economic and service reliability criteria; Evaluates new and emerging technologies for addition and/or application to existing network systems; Conducts economic and market growth studies to determine impact on network capacity and development plan projections; Creates deliverables such as management reports, business cases, infrastructure deployment guidelines, 2 Year Plans, Plans of Record, and Serving Plans; Works with key internal stakeholder and vendors to determine future business and customer needs

Key Competencies and Skills:
  • At least 2-3 years of successful network engineering, planning or related experience

Education and Qualifications:
University degree in Math, Science or Engineering preferred or equivalent related network experience. Experience: Typically at least 2-3 years of successful network engineering, planning or related experience.

Additional Information:
Location: Bratislava
Working hours: EMEA with flexibility for additional hours or weekends as per client needs.
