Our Global Compute & Storage Operations organization is currently seeking a dynamic and talented individual to join our world-class Tier-2 support team as a Junior HP-UX & Linux Systems Administrator.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers running HP-UX and Linux
• Monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum performance
• Perform system analysis, configuration management, and develop improvements for system availability and reliability
• Diagnose system issues, resolve outages, and perform root cause analysis
• Design, develop, recommend, and implement new or revised system software, configuration utilities, and automated processes, as necessary.
• Provides technical expertise for system transitions, migrations, and consolidations
• Perform SAN maintenance and troubleshooting
• Troubleshooting of TCP/IP networking within the OS and network layer
• Act as an escalation point for next level support
• Work closely with internal customers to understand their processes and requirements and how it impacts your team
• Collaborate with peers from around the world to ensure customers are provided world-class support

Personality requirements and skills
• Basic knowledge of HP-UX and RedHat Linux
• Experience with other Linux variants beneficial (e.g. SuSE, Ubuntu, etc.)
• Understanding of IP addressing and routing; ability to troubleshoot network issues
• Knowledge of VERITAS Volume Manager & VERITAS Cluster Server
• Basic knowledge of SAN storage
• Shell scripting (sh/ksh/bash)
• Ability to multitask while working in a high pressure environment
• Ability to understand the technical design/architecture of computer systems, networks, and applications
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and without supervision
• Fluent use of English written and spoken
• Clear and concise communication
• Flexibility to work nights/weekends as required
• Basic knowledge of HP-UX and/or RedHat Linux
• High School Graduate
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Upper Intermediate English skills (written and verbal) – B2 Level
• Good organization and attention to detail
• A logical mind-set and a passion for problem solving and teamwork
• Experience in a multi-national, multi-cultural, and global environment is preferred
• Experience within the IT, telecommunications, and/or networking industry is desirable
