Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Planning and Engineering Specialist in Storage & EBR will become a creative and highly productive architect who designs storage & backup solutions using fiber channel & IP-based SAN & Backup appliances. He will be able to work independently to solve complex problems as well as be able to lead cross functional groups to meet common goals and objectives. This assignment will involve designing complex storage & backup solutions across multiple data centers using several different Storage & Backup solutions including EMC, Hitachi (HDS and SUN), HP & NetApp.

• Participating in all phases of Storage & Backup design
• Architecting clustering and cache mirroring solutions
• Gathering requirements and clarifying with clients what storage & backup additions/changes are needed
• Research and evaluate best solutions and provide robust storage &backup designs
• Creating tickets for storage & backup needs, coordinating with server admins and storage & backup operations to implement designs
• Reporting and Analysis
• Planning
• Non Project Administration

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination
Follow-up/Higher Professional Education
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Other knowledge

Windows server administration - Expert
UNIX/Linux administration - Expert

Personality requirements and skills

• 1 or more years of experience with administration of WIN, UNIX, Linux, Solaris servers
• Working experience in an enterprise environment
• Hands on backup/restore experience
• Advantage will be:

Hands on SAN/NAS experience
Hands on backup/restore experience
Working knowledge of configuration of storage layouts including but not limited to RAID 1, RAID 5 and RAID 10

Working experience with SAN, Fibre Channel, SCSI and iSCSI concepts is a plus
Knowledge of SAN and NAS Storage Disk Arrays (EMC, Hitachi, HP, Netapp) is a plus
Working experience with storage protocols, file-systems and databases as well as storage management is a plus
Multiple UNIX operating systems knowledge (HP-UX, AIX , Solaris, and LINUX primarily) is a plus

• Project management experience
• Experience with ITIL based processes
• Excellent documentation and planning skills
• Excellent oral and written skills
