Senior System Administrator

Senior system administrator in AT&T provides centralized systems administration, operational support and problem resolution for a IT based systems. Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Installs and monitors security auditing software and remediates defects based on ATT security policies

Roles and responsibilities:
This role is responsible for hardware and software installation, maintenance and support, system logs and problem reports, adds, changes, deletes, disk space management, backups, and file restores. Assists in monitoring of the system's performance and capacity planning. Troubleshoots and/or interacts with IT staff or vendors in testing, operational support and troubleshooting of complex system hardware and software problems. Develops, communicates, and monitors the operational standards and procedures for the UNIX based system. Acts as a technical resource to the IT staff and systems users.
