Job description, responsibilities and duties

Location: Kosice, Slovakia
Working hours: There are multiple positions for both EMEA and US timezones
EMEA working hours - 10:00 to 18:30 CET, US working hours 14:00 to 22:30 CET with some flexibility.
All Engineers are expected to support customer migrations and changes in the evenings and at weekends if required, as requested by customer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • System Engineer is responsible for managing LAN/WAN network for one or more AT&T clients.
  • Creates Low Level Design (LLD) and deploys network solutions, performs network changes of medium and high complexity.
  • Provide base configuration for various types of devices, supports LAN / WAN infrastructure and interacts with internal teams (MRS, MLAN and Firewall) and external partners (GLS, IBM and customer) to complete tasks.
  • Candidate will coordinate closely with vendors to resolve production problems and to ensure product quality.
  • Should be able to solve complex technical problems, including those which require research and/or extensive analysis in order to resolve the problem.
  • The System Engineer will also provide lifecycle management, quality assurance, customer communications, and technical/troubleshooting support.
  • Responsibilities will also include hardware/software configuration, diversity analysis, disaster recovery analysis, inventory management, utilization analysis, network implementation, problem management and general subject matter expertise.
  • The candidate will be assigned to multiple complex accounts encompassing a wide range of technical feature sets.

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

  • Advanced knowledge in the area of networking and Cisco equipment configuration
  • Minimum entry externally recognized qualification for the Engineering role is CCNP level.

Desired skills / experience:

  • Cisco LAN/WAN advanced skills is a must
  • Customer focused, presentation skills; strong verbal and written English communication skills (Upper Intermediate level)
Following skills are an advantage:
  • Cisco Wireless (Controller & AP configuration)
  • Load Balancers (Cisco CSS, ACE and F5 Load balancers)
  • WAN optimization (Cisco WAAS, Riverbed)
  • Firewalls (Cisco ASA / PIX, Juniper, Checkpoint)
  • DNS – Infoblox, Bluecoat

Education:
  • University education – Bachelor level or Major in technical subject or
  • Secondary school education with relevant work experience record
  • Telecommunications/ Networking field of study is advantage
