The primary work activity of a Billing Service Manager is to investigate and manage the invoice and billing dispute resolution for a portfolio of named customers who have significantly overdue invoices and where the typical value of those invoices is in excess of $100K but typically this will be in excess of US$500K with no upper limit.
Using Project Management Skills, the Billing Service Manager ensures that resolutions are tracked and delivered in a structured and methodical manner, and providing comprehensive updates and reviews to Senior Management at regular intervals throughout the resolution process.
The Billing Service Manager acts as the lead person on conference calls and face to face meetings with Sales, Service Management and Customers, to understand and investigate issues relating to non-payment of invoices, this will often be across multiple countries or customer business units, to ensure prompt payment of invoices or resolution of disputes.
The Billing Service Manager works in cross functional teams to deliver process improvements and changes by applying their expert knowledge and "real world" customer experience to billing issues.

An ideal candidate should come from Finance or Billing environment within corporate business and should possess extraordinary communication and customer facing skills.

Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Finance or Billing experience (min 2 years)
  • Project Management or Service Management skills and experience (min 2 years)
  • Customer facing skills
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • MS Access - basic knowledge is an advantage but not required
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new and changing situations, to share creative solutions with team members, and possess a proven ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to communicate on different organizational levels and with different organizational audiences

Desired:
Service Management knowledge and experience
  • Masters degree, preferably in the area of Business/Project Management or Economics
