ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be fully accountable for the overall stability, security, and supportability of AT&T’s Tandem platforms (monitoring capabilities, performance tuning, capacity planning, and maintaining overall device and platform health).

Major duties include, but are not limited to:

• 7x24 support coverage for OS, Database, Networking and General Assistance
• Outage coordination
• New System Deployment
• Daily Monitoring of Critical alerts from systems/automation
• Software patch updates and installation for Managed Servers
• OS NonStop Kernel Upgrades (evaluation, testing, coordination, deployment)
• OSS Posix Subsystem and Product Upgrades and Management
• Manage User IDs (ASPR compliance and CSO Audits)
• Disaster Recovery Exercises and SRM Maintenance
• 3rd Party product(s) Evaluation, Deployment and Upgrades
• Manage Virtual Tape Library used for backup and recovery
• Monitor systems utilizing in-house scripts, alarming and Prognosis
• Stay current with product lifecycles/EOSL (HP and Third Party vendors)
• Manage Licenses

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Strong background and demonstrated experience supporting Tandem systems in a 24x7 mission critical environment.

Virtual Tape Library
Prognosis 10.x
Guardian Utilities – TMF, Pathway, SCF, Backup, Restore, DSMSCM, RDF, AutoSync, Tape Catalog
OSH Utilities including Web Services, JDK
Performance and Tuning Principles, Measure
Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
Familiarity with Project Management Practices
Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment.

• 2+ Years of experience
• BS in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or other technical field
• HP Nonstop Certificaiton
