Network Management Administrator

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the stability of the mission critical AT&T-managed NEMOS(Network Management Operation System) application. This candidate will be accountable for monitoring the collection of data of the Long Distance switched network and ensure that the data is accurately reported to various work groups and systems including the GNOC, NMCE, CAPRI, ANSER, TOPAS, NTM, and NETS so that appropriate action can be taken to alert and analyze network problems due to routing, capacity, mass calling or facility issues.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This includes monitoring capabilities, Network Data Collection and Reporting, server performance, and maintaining overall platform health).

Major duties include, but are not limited to:

• 7x24 support coverage for NEMOS Application
• Outage coordination
• Configuration changes as a result of switch upgrades or network changes
• Continual Monitoring of Critical alerts from systems/automation
• Manage User IDs (Background checks, ASPR compliance, and CSO Audits)
• Disaster Recovery Exercises and SRM Maintenance
• Monitor and Maintain data connections and collection of various switch types (e.g., 4E, 5E, DMS) and various configurations (e.g., LNS, EDGE, STP, STPI, NRN 2NCP, etc.)
• Monitor and maintain application processes, data throughput, database integrity, and system performance utilizing in-house scripts, alarming and Prognosis
• Work to replace product lifecycles/EOSL hardware/OS

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Strong background and demonstrated experience supporting systems in a 24x7 mission critical environment.

• Solaris 10
• Solaris 2.5
• Shell , Perl, awk scripting
• NEMOS IBM software
• Understanding of Switch Network configurations and protocols, (e.g., Datakit, BX .25, WAN, Firewall provisioning procedures)
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment.
• Organized, adaptable, a self-starter, highly motivated by challenge, and a team player
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• BS in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or other technical field is an advantage
