Job description, responsibilities and duties
Responsible for providing support for application platforms by managing day to day operations to ensure uninterrupted availability. Provides complex technical operations, administration, and maintenance of the middleware platforms. Performs and coordinates upgrades, tuning and troubleshooting with ITO partners. Coordinates with application development organizations for change management, deployment scheduling, product updates, feature requests and technology enhancements. Ensures security compliance of the middleware platforms by adhering to CSO practices and policies. Supports the application life cycle management for infrastructure and middleware, including server lease rolls and virtualization efforts. Leads multiple projects of medium to large size and technical breath.

• Requires strong problem solving skills to solve unique problems through evaluative judgment and precedent.
• Requires working knowledge of middleware software such as Weblogic, Adobe CQ5, Apache/IIS Web servers, Adobe Media Server.
• Requires working knowledge of database technology such as Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL server, Big Data.
• Requires working knowledge of operating systems such as RedHat Linux and Microsoft Windows.
• Requires technical knowledge in Network and Server architectures, including shared infrastructure, virtualization and Cloud computing.
• Coordinates across multiple organizations including ITO partners and application development groups for change management, deployment scheduling, product updates, feature requests and technology enhancements.
• Supports application life cycle management for infrastructure and middleware, including server lease rolls and virtualization efforts.
• Must be a key contributor on complex projects and initiatives providing input and technical expertise to others within the team
• Ability to communicate (in English), understand, and share technical information verbally and in written form, concisely and proficiently.
• Inter and Intra organizational communication is required, in order to provide technical advice, readout of technical problems, coordinate platform enhances among partner organizations.
• Must demonstrate initiative and independence, owning the platforms that they are responsible for and maintaining them with minimal input.
• Must be self-motivated, with excellent can-do attitude and have the ability to perform effectively in a stressful environment.
• Will require 24X7 Tier 2 support including off-hours, evening, and holiday coverage.
• Degree in Computer Science, or Information Technology related discipline with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a Telecommunications Network or Operations environment.
• Requires the ability to lead multiple projects of medium to large size and technical breath.
• Possess leadership and mentoring skills to provide technical guidance to others on the team.
