Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

- The Plant Manager of the site is in charge of the plant activity with P&L and Balance Sheet full responsibility, local KPIs management, daily satisfaction of internal and external customers’ needs in term of quality, delivery and services
- The Plant Manager is responsible for compliance to local and European laws, regulations and obligations of the plant including safety and environment rules
- Leading a team of local managers
- Providing leadership and local vision to the organization by assisting the Group steering committee and staff with the development of long range plan (casting strategy, business plan), preparing the subsidiary’ annual budget, and with the evaluation of current situation and reporting of progress on P&L and other KPIs
- Supervising preparation of a monthly report to the group summarizing progress on short and long range plans
- Preparing and writing discussion papers, analysis documents and proposals – for instance business case - as needed to assist the organization in determining and meeting its long and short term goals
- Insuring compliance with local regulations and laws
- Ensuring continuous best in class safety and ergonomic conditions for the staff of the site / subsidiary recruitment and contracting of local staff for the business needs
- Employee development, evaluation training and coaching
- Policy development and documentation according to Group instructions
- Local labor relations with employees representatives and unions
- Employment and compliance to local regulatory concerns and reporting
- Insuring local contacts with Group’ project managers and technical experts
- Ensuring that process and quality engineers develop manufacturing process according to Group’ and sites’ standards
- Organizing continuous improvement of these standards, managing process productivities
- Organizing smooth product and raw material modifications within site and with other sites within the group
- Securing project PPAP and flawless SOP for new products locally
- Occasionally leading local project: new raw material development, new equipment installation, building modifications…
- Giving support to sales representatives
- Giving support to local purchasing representative and activities
- Proposing a yearly improvement plan for material costs and the follow up on the agreed actions
- Plant Manager is responsible for achievement of agreed budgeted figures (P&L, cash, stocks, …)
- Providing recommendations and analysis regarding investments and cash strategies: proposing business case validation to Group Steering Committee
- Supervising preparation of annual / semester budgets, regular variance statements and analysis with corrective action plans, and annual audit.
- Establishing and managing a productivity plan to reduce costs: raw material costs, subcontracted services costs, staff costs, plant costs, fixed costs
- Plant Manager is responsible for the assets within the site / subsidiary
- Defining, proposing and validating with Group the overall industrial strategy for Casting activity within the group: process, capex, equipment, automation, …
- Proposing and developing updated and state of the art technology improvements for the casting activities of company Group worldwide, including benchmarking, reviewing of equipment, making or buying studies, …
- Doing direct production activities to insure safety and compliance with quality control standards, local regulatory compliance, and lease agreements
- Overseeing and / or ensuring good housekeeping at site at all times
- Insuring daily QCD performances on plant deliveries to customers
- Enhancing use of the problem solving methods in the plant (QRQC)
- Implementing and securing SIOP and MPS process with production and logistics managers
- Defining and piloting activities targeting continuous improvement of TRS, labor productivity, inventories, scrap levels
- Proposing and managing the quality, delivery and plant efficiency improvements plans and follow ups
- Insuring accurate documentation of production and quality control data and records
- Insuring that quality systems is implemented and respected according to Group’ rules and standards (ISO/TS, VDA), securing necessary corrective actions in case of non-compliance
- Assisting in development of forms and tools to increase company efficiency and risk management

University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

Professional profile:
- A strong technical profile is mandatory
- Engineer degree in metal engineering
- Specialization in foundry and/or casting is a plus
- Experience in a mass production foundry or casting activity (metal alloys)
- Handling experience in operations in mass production industry of at least 10 years, preferably automotive
- Experience in managers supervision of at least 5 years
- Knowledge and experience in business management (P&L, cash management) of at least 3 years
- The company is a very technical site, experience in process engineering, by education or by previous experience is also requested
- Fluent English language is mandatory (negotiation levels)

Personal profile:
- Ready for a close and demanding management – focusing on output, results, indicators
- Confident in himself and able of self assessment and improvement, standing the pressure and the stress
- High technical skills in foundry, casting (and others) of metal alloys for high production volumes (process engineering and production)
- Developed interpersonal skills, flexibility, reactivity, decision maker, clear communicator, team player, strong in ethics, ambitious
