Job description, responsibilities and duties

The successful candidate will lead the EMEA Payroll team in the Shared Services Centre and will be responsible for managing payroll processing for the EMEA region which currently covers 17 countries and is continuously expanding. We are looking for a strong operational leader with excellent communication skills and a strong proven background in delivering multiple EMEA payrolls. The role is a fantastic opportunity for a leader, who wants to raise the bar for the payroll team and set the team up for success.

Other areas of responsibility: international projects, Six Sigma (Greenbelt and Kaizen), new country implementations, M&A activities, maintaining process documentation and ensuring SOX compliance.

You will have the opportunity to build the team and make a real difference. This is a high profile area within Amazon and requires a manager with the ability to manage and improve the payroll operations.

People Management:
Leading and developing a team, including: hiring, training and employee development; managing group workload and establishing priorities; ensuring existing policies and procedures are followed; managing annual performance targets; creating and monitoring appropriate performance metrics.

Essential Experience and Qualifications
· A minimum of 3 years in a similar role (Regional Payroll Manager)
· Experience of Leading and Managing large team
· To develop a professional payroll function which is scalable & flexible to meet the company needs
· Familiar with working in a metrics driven organization
· Liaise with key stakeholders for procedural changes
· Maintain relationship with key internal and external partners
· A strong passion for hiring and developing people
· Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects.
· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
· Build, inspire and motivate the teams to raise the bar
· Strong vendor management skills and experience
· Fluent in the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills
·Strong analytical skills to identify potential impact and implications of issues and takes appropriate action to avoid future recurrences

Desirable Experience and Qualifications
· 2nd or 3rd language requirement
· Previous experience within a control or audit environment
· Kaizen leader or Greenbelt certification is advantage
· Experience working with SOX compliance
· Knowledge of compliance with EMEA local legislation, tax and social security laws
