Scope of responsibility and tasks

- Processing payroll for selected German entities and back up for DE team members in Munich (DE Payroll process over 20 entities with app. 20.000- 30.000 employees based on seasonal requirements). Two separate pay cycles are set up per month.
Areas of accountability for the day to day operational DE Payroll:

- Reconciliation of payroll data (Peoplesoft interface and Paisy Payroll software)
- Audit of error protocols (Amazon internal data flow via interfaces, external DEUEV and ELSTAM) which includes tax and social security declarations and data exchange with tax offices
- Assure accurate and timely filing of all related reporting requirements for internal or external needs, in accordance with country specific legislation and within the German Payroll calendar
- Pre and post Payroll run administration (e.g. distribution, communication, filing and reporting to internal key contacts in HR Service, Payroll Accounting , local Payroll Preparation teams etc.)
- Liaison with local Amazon key HR or relevant business contacts as well as external relevant authorities
- Reconciliation accountability: this may include Peoplesoft to Paisy Recon, RSU Recon, Relocation Recon, open item and overpayment Recon with Payroll Accounting etc.
- Administration of absence (sickness, vacation) as requested in the company set up
- Responsible for entity / task related employee and HR Service communication using the Amazon Ticket System. Category support on Ticket requests defined by CTI (.e.g.

- Review of taxable Benefits (in kind) in payroll related sources like Business Travel, Business Events, Relocation and other sources, which needs Payroll transaction, controllership and tax tracking and compliance control:

- Recording of taxable benefits / benefits in kind with identified business transactions also outside the Payroll data pool.
- This includes cross-functional cooperation to identify taxable transactions in the area of FC Business, Travel Expenses and miscellaneous HR Benefit Programs to enable fixed tax declaration

Bank Payment Coordination:

- Controlling, recording and initiating manual payments via Approval and Bank tool in line with Amazon Spend and Approval Policy

Reporting:

- Controlling and supporting on standardized reporting requirements
- Ad-hoc reporting includes analysis, reports and other global processes to ensure efficient controllership
- Uploading and file sharing according Payroll schedule
- Contribute, support Overpayment- , Garnishment process and clearing of accounts associated with

Payroll Projects:

- Ownership or contribution to DE Payroll related projects to optimize processes, data flow, set up of companies and increase quality of payroll output
- Develop further opportunities for Payroll transition task from Munich to Bratislava

Information about the selection process

We are also open to communicate with candidates, who have no people management responsibility, but have relevant experience with German payroll.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2) and German - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

Basic requirements:

- Minimum 3-5 years payroll experience in German Payroll with good understanding about Tax and Social Insurance rules
- Ability to self-organize, cope with tight time schedules and complex organizational international environment. Able to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment
- Good analytical skills and intermediate level Excel skills
- Hands-on experience of data entry and data validation with an ability to carry such tasks out with a high level of discipline and accuracy
- Positive/can do attitude as well as the ability to balance multiple priorities
- Team player - excellent interpersonal skills but takes initiative and can also work independently
- Absolutely customer focused and focusing on employee support
- Drive for operational excellence
- Proofed competency in verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and organizational skills and sound judgment

Preferred qualifications:
- Working experience with Paisy and/or PeopleSoft is preferred
- Used to work in international environment covering German Payroll
- Fluent English and German language
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Useful experience in Payroll Accounting processes, German Social Security Insurance and Payroll Tax Audits
