Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Position
The Operation supervisor's duties include, but are not limited to:
• The planning and resourcing of all operational activities of the branch (including staffing, vehicles, packing material), using resources in the most cost effective and efficient manner at all times;
• Source, negotiate and conclude agreements with sub-contractors (especially during peak season) to ensure the continuation of operations in accordance with the Group standards;
• Manage day-to-day activities and monitor the performance of operational staff and sub-contractors;
• Identify training needs of operational staff, follow up and reporting on training of existing staff and new starters;
• Issue purchase orders for sea, road and air freight with our partners in a timely manner;
• Maintain a neat, safe and secure warehouse together with the warehouse manager, keeping track of and ordering the necessary materials are required;
• Effectively manage all motor vehicles, accident claims if any, and liaise with claimants and insurers as needed;
• Ensure the clear marking of client’s belongings and that a check-list is completed and signed with the client at every loading and/or unloading from the client’s house, the warehouse and/or Liftvan;
• Quarterly meeting with operational staff;
• Monthly reporting.

The Offer
The type of contract offered for this role is a Local 2 Year Fixed Term Contract. The package will include a basic salary commensurate with experience, a commission scheme and a mobile phone.

The Candidate Profile
On a professional level, the candidate will have a formal qualification in Transport or Logistics. The experience in a similar role will be an asset. Fluency in Slovak and English non-negotiable, while mastery of German will be a great advantage). The incumbent must be the holder of a code B Driver’s Licence. Solid computer skills (MS Windows OS) and the ability to quickly and effectively learn and assimilate new computer software are required. The ideal incumbent will be organised, taking initiative, building partners /sub-contractors loyalty, thinking out of the box and going above and beyond to meet clients’ needs and expectations. The candidate should have experience and be willing to work in a multi-lingual and multi-cultural environment.
